About The Film

Award winning filmmaker and director Slater Jewell-Kemker has spent 8 years shooting An Inconvenient Youth. What started as a small experiment, has evolved into an intimate coming of age story, shot on the front lines of the Global Youth Climate Movement. At age 15, Slater began attending environmental summits, camera in hand, wide-eyed and ready to make a big difference.

That’s not exactly what happened.

This film is about the evolution of one young activist and a diverse network of youth growing and struggling within the Global Youth Climate Movement. At summits and events around the globe, through Slater’s eyes, we share the struggles, personal views the first hand effects of the climate crisis on the psyches of the younger generation.

After travelling the globe, trying to make a difference and struggling with her own privilege, Slater is about to embark on the final leg of her journey.
